Masks for Medics LA

Why I created Masks for Medics LA

As a child, Taylor had Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a serious heart condition that caused rapid heartbeats. In 2019, she was diagnosed with another heart arrhythmia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while her condition continued, Taylor chose to use this time to express her gratitude to the medical heroes who worked tirelessly to save her and many others.

Creating Masks for Medics LA was a way to support our Hispanic community, which faced high risks during the pandemic. After years of developing our charity, Soaring Samaritans Youth Movement (SSYM), we realized it was the perfect platform to tackle the urgent PPE shortages in Los Angeles. With donations and support from SSYM, we launched Masks for Medics LA and delivered 2,400 masks to hospitals and clinics serving undocumented immigrants.
